Place Ads On Your Car To Make Money

Putting ads on your car is the easiest way to make extra cash while driving. All you have to do is put the ads on the car and then drive; it’s that easy.

    But…

Yes, it kinda is too good to be true. There are rules in the fine print that say things like how many miles you need to drive to get paid, certain city restrictions due to low population, etc…

So make sure you read the fine print and ask a lot of questions before working with these companies because there are a lot of bad reviews for car ad companies out there due to people not getting paid because of these rules.

    Carvertise

Carvertise will place ads on your car

Carvertise is a company that places ads on your car and pays you to drive around! You can do a partial or complete wrap on your car.

They are entirely free to sign up, and you can even wrap a leased vehicle if you have one.

Carvertise reviews show that this legit car advertising company will pay you to advertise your car!

So, what do you need to get ads from Carvertise?

It is important to note that you may not get picked to run ads on your car even if you fill out an application.

    Pay:

    • The standard rate is $100 a month
    • Specialized campaigns can pay $200 a month
    • Parking a car at a specific place at a specific time can make $30 an hour

You will get paid at the beginning of the month, and campaigns typically last 2 to 6 months.

Learn more about Carvertise here and check out their FAQs if you have additional questions.

    Wrapify

Driving People With Your Car To Earn Money

You can also make money with your vehicle by driving people around.

Here are the best platforms to use for this…

    Uber

    Uber logo

Of course, Uber had to make the list; no surprise here.

    But…

Even though it is one of the well-known ways to make cash with your vehicle, it doesn’t mean it isn’t still an excellent way to make some extra cash.

    Requirements:

    • Must be at least 21 years old
    • Need a smartphone to use the App
    • Driving for at least one year or three years if under 23
    • A 4-door vehicle that is ten years or newer
    • In-state driver’s license, insurance, and registration
    • Clean driving record and pass a background check
    • The vehicle must pass Uber’s inspection

Each city has its own requirements, so make sure you do your homework for the requirements in your city.

Also, note that Uber has different “Uber Types,” such as UberBlack & UberX, so please do your research before jumping in headfirst.

    Pay:

Yes, this is the crucial part: how much can I make driving with Uber?

Well, it depends; I know that’s not what you want to hear, but it really does depend.

For instance, you definitely will make more money driving for Uber in NYC than in the middle of Wyoming.

This is just one factor; others include how long you drive and what time of the day you drive.

According to Glassdoor, the average hourly pay for an Uber driver is $15.

    But…

As I said, it depends on the factors above, and you must consider all the driving expenses with Uber.

Check out this great post from Ridester breaking down how much you really make with Uber.

Also, you can now make tips with Uber, so give excellent service and get some extra cash.

If Uber is not your thing, let’s move on to the other famous Ridesharing company.

    Lyft

    Lyft logo

Lyft is another great company to work for on your own time to make money with your car!

    Requirements:

    • Must be at least 21 years old
    • Need a smartphone for the Lyft App
    • Have 4-door vehicle
    • Have a U.S license for at least one year and valid car insurance
    • Pass a car inspection and a background check

Like Uber, cities have their own requirements to drive for Lyft, so make sure you check the specific requirements for your city.

Go here for more information about Lyft driver requirements.

    Pay:

Okay, let’s see how Lyft stacks up against Uber.

Well, just like how your pay can vary with Uber, It is the same thing with Lyft.

I won’t go over them again, but you have to consider all the factors that go into how much you make and all the expenses you have driving for Lyft. This is when you really know how much you make.

You can try out the Lyft earnings calculator here and get a rough estimate of how much you can make driving for Lyft.

According to GlassDoor, Lyft drivers make an average of $16 an hour, which is a dollar more than Uber drivers.

You can also get tips from Lyft to make some extra cash.

Ridester has an excellent post that breaks down how much you can make with Lyft.

    Wingz

    Wingz logo

Wingz is another ridesharing service like Uber and Lyft but much smaller in scale.

They are more based on airport pick-up and drop-off services, but they are starting to expand to all types of ridesharing like Uber and Lyft.

So if you don’t want to drive all around the place and rather do pick-ups and drop-offs from airports, then Wingz might be right for you.

    Requirements:

    • 21 years or older
    • U.S license and car insurance
    • A 4-door vehicle that is five years old or less
    • iPhone or Android device for the Wingz app
    • Pass a background check and vehicle inspection

Go here for additional information about being a Wingz driver.

    Pay:

How much do Wingz drivers make?

With Wingz, the pay gets a little tricky. It is said that you can make much more driving for Wingz than Uber or Lyft because the fares are a flat fee, and you can also get tips.

According to Wingz, they state that some drivers make up to $2,000 a week!

I don’t know how true that is, and if it is true, how many hours do those drivers push to make cash like that?

Since they are still young and have not expanded like Uber or Lyft, it is hard to say how much you can really make.

With that said, Wingz drivers seem to make more per ride than Uber and Lyft, but there are fewer rides out there for Wingz drivers.

You can always sign up and work when you want to pull in some extra cash!

    HopSkipDrive

    HopSkipDrive logo

HopSkipDrive is being deemed as the Uber for kids.

It is essentially a taxi service for kids. If you are a busy parent and your child has to go to school or some practice, you can schedule a ride with a professional driver called a “Care driver” to take your kids.

I know what you think: “I’m not leaving my kids with some weirdo.”

Well… to be a driver at HopSkipDrive, you need at least five years of childcare experience. So it looks like your kids will be in good hands.

    Requirements:

    • 23 years or older
    • Proof of insurance
    • A 4-door vehicle that is 2008 or newer
    • Proof of insurance

They also provide insurance, and you can set your own schedule

It is important to note that they only operate in certain parts of California and Denver.

Also, drivers are primarily female, so guys, this may not be the best option for you.

With HopSkipDrive, you can make money with your car on your own time!

    Zimride

    Zimride by Enterprise logo

Unfortunately, Enterprise has shut down Zimride as of January 31st, 2023. Once we thoroughly vet their service, this post will be updated with a similar app.

Zimride is a reasonably new ridesharing service, but they are owned by Enterprise, which makes them pretty trustworthy.

The kicker with Zimride is that the only riders on the Zimride network are corporate employees and university students.

Zimride is in its beta stage, so the pay rate is not precisely known, so keep that in mind.

    But…

Zimride can be a great way to make extra money with your car!

If you want to try out driving for Zimride, then contact them and ask questions before you make your decision.

    iCarpool

    iCarpool Logo

Unfortunately, iCarpool is no longer operating and has shut down its business. Once we thoroughly vet their service, this post will be updated with a similar app.

iCarpool is cool because it differs from all the other ride-sharing services we went over; well, they are not a ride-sharing company, as you can tell by the name.

We’ll go over how they work in a second, but first, let’s take a look at what is required for iCarpool.

    Requirements:

    • At least 21 years old
    • Need a smartphone to get the iCarpool app
    • A clean and well-maintained car
    • Valid in-state license held for at least one year
    • Car insurance
    • Need to have a job or be in college

You can see more about iCarpool’s driver requirements here.

    How it works:

Once you are approved as a driver, you need to launch the app and list the trips you do constantly; think about trips to work or school.

Then, you need to check the app a few hours before the trip and check out rider requests along with your route. If you would like to accept the rider’s request, just not the pickup and drop-off spots.

After you drop the rider off, you will automatically be paid to your account!

Learn more about how iCarpool works here.

    Pay:

As I said before, iCarpool is not a ride-sharing company, so you don’t make much money.

Rides are very cheap for riders, but it depends on the trip’s distance.

iCarpool says they charge riders $.30 per mile, so as a driver, you aren’t making much here, but remember you aren’t going out of your way driving people; you do pick-ups and drop-offs along the route you are driving anyway.

Go here to check out iCarpool’s FAQ page.

Plus, by carpooling people, you can drive in the HOV lane if the roads you drive on have them.

Even if you aren’t making much, you are making something to go where you are driving anyway.

If you want to become a driver, check out the sign-up form.

    But…

Before you jump to sign up, the fine print states (yes, there is always fine print) that are only based on the average of select markets, and pay varies based on location, time of day, and other factors.

    Roadie

    Roadie Logo

Roadie is great because they allow you to deliver just about any item, and you can deliver locally or long distances.

This means more jobs available to you, leading to more cash in your pocket.

Roadie isn’t only for businesses to list items to ship; everyday people can list items they need to be shipped.

Also, as a driver, don’t worry about people posting items to ship for bogus prices like “I need to ship my ceramic cat collection from NYC to LA for $10.

No… no… this doesn’t happen because the sender doesn’t choose the price to pay. Roadie takes the item size and the trip duration and calculates the cost to pay.

As a driver, you don’t have to take any gigs you don’t want to anyway.

Cool, let’s see what it takes to drive for Roadie.

    Requirements:

    • At least 18 years old

Check out the Roadie driver FAQs here.

    CitizenShipper

    CitizenShipper

CitizenShipper is a bit different from the other delivery systems because it is purely a peer-to-peer platform, with CitizenShipper just supplying the platform to broker the deal.

So, how does CitizenShipper make money?

Well, a small fee is charged to the shipper for using the CitizenShipper service, and they charge drivers a $24.99 monthly fee for using their platform to make money. (this is after the 30-day free trial.)

This may seem expensive, especially with all these other services out there free to sign up, but you may still want to use CitizenShipper to make some money.

Also, this reminds me of Grabr, which is similar to CitizenShipper because it is a peer-to-peer platform where people request items and pay you to get them for them.

You can read more about Grabr here; also, I forgot to mention it is absolutely free to sign up!

Okay, let’s dig into the requirements for CitizenShipper.

    Requirements:

    • You need to be at least 21 years old.
    • You need a valid driver’s license and car insurance.
    • Smartphone for the CitizenShipper app
    • There are some special requirements for drivers who cross state lines; check them out here.

Check out the complete terms of use for driving with CitizenShipper here.

    Pay:

As I said before, CitizenShipper is just a platform to facilitate peer-to-peer transactions.

    So…

You and the shipper must complete the transaction yourselves; this can be done via cash, PayPal, Venmo, or any other cash app.

This, along with paying a monthly fee for using the platform and with users allowed to list their own prices, has me looking at other options to make money.

Your pay depends on many factors with CitizenShipper, but like all the other services, the more jobs you do, the more money you make.

You can test out CitizenShipper for free for 30 days and cancel at any time at no cost, so if you are interested, then sign up here.

You also get to keep 100% of your tips, so if you are tired of delivering food and Saucey is in your city, you might want to check them out.
