- Add fragrance oils to the melted wax
- Add any coloring if you want to change the color of the candle.
- Attach the wick to the container and secure the wick to the bottom using wax or glue.
- Add any additives like flower petals, lavender, eucalyptus, etc… to the container before pouring in the wax if you choose to.
- Pour the melted wax into the container when the wax reaches 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Secure the wick while pouring the wax so it stays in place.
- After the wax is poured into the container keep the wick secured to avoid it from swaying and then let the wax cool at room temperature for about 4 hours.
- Add more wax to the container if needed and cut the wick to the appropriate length.

Different Types Of Candles To Sell
As a candle maker, you will have to decide which type of candle you want to make to sell but hey you can always sell different types of candles.
Now, let’s go straight into the different types of candles…
One of the most popular types of candles on the market right now is soy candles.
The reasons that soy candles are great are that they are created from a natural source, they last longer and they produce a lot less soot.
However, the downsides are that soy candles cost more to produce and they usually have less of a scent than other types of candles.
Another popular candle that you can sell is Paraffin Candles.
Paraffin Candles are great because they cheap to produce and they have strong scents.
The downsides to paraffin cables are that they don’t last as long as soy candles and they are not made from a natural source.
Palm Wax Candles
A pretty new type of candle wax that entered the market is palm wax.
Palm wax candles are very similar to soy candles because they last longer, have a soot-free burn, made from a natural source, and also have a unique pattern.
The downsides to palm wax candles are that they are expensive to produce and it might be difficult to produce mass quantities of this candle since they are pretty new.
Another popular type of candle is the beeswax candle.
Beezwax candles are made from a natural source, they have a natural honey scent to them, they have a soot-free burn, and they last long.
The downsides are that they are pretty expensive to produce, they don’t hold scents as well as other candles and it can be hard to dye beeswax another color.
Coconut Wax Candles
One of the newest types of candles out there is the coconut wax candle.
Coconut candle wax is great because it is natural and has a natural coconut scent, it has a soot-free burn, and it is long-lasting.
The downsides are that it is one of the most expensive waxes on the market and it can be difficult to mass-produce these candles.
So here are the different types of candles you can sell for money!
But… which wax do I choose?
The answer is whichever you want, it’s your business! I recommend starting off with soy wax or paraffin wax since they are easier to use and widely available.
However, I do recommend experiencing with different waxes to see what works best for you.
I also recommend investing in the Candle Making 4 You course to learn all about the different waxes and how to use them to successfully make candles!
Where Can You Sell Candles?
Now that you started making candles, it’s time to sell them for some sweet cash!
But, how do you go about doing this?
The best way to sell your candles is to start a website. This way you own everything and you are able to control all aspects of your business.
You can start your website on WordPress or Shopify, there are other platforms but these two are the most popular and easiest to start with.
If you don’t want to start your own website then you can sell on platforms that are already established such as Etsy, Amazon Handmade, Artfire, Zazzle, etc…
However, with these sites you will need to pay a fee for using their platform to sell your items, so keep this in mind.
And of course, you will use social media platforms to promote your business to attract customers but you will need another platform like your own website or Etsy to sell on.
