Now, of course, you can resell items without a truck but with a truck, you can gather more items and get the larger items most people aren’t able to carry.

If you hit up some yard sales, most people go after the smaller items that are easier to carry and the larger items such as furniture, tables, patio sets, etc… are left behind.
The sellers have a hard time getting rid of these items and they will often sell them to you at a low price just to get rid of them.
You can then resell these items on Craigslist, eBay, or Facebook Marketplace to make some nice cash!
Being that you own a truck, you will be able to pick up more items on one trip which means more profit in your pocket.
Yes, you will need some money to purchase items in the beginning but once you start making money you will make up for your losses, and then it turns into straight profit from there.
I must tell you that many fail to resell and they keep losing money, over and over again.

There are many scam advertising companies out there and I’ve heard many horror stories so I always recommend doing your research before using ad companies.
Luckily for you…
I have done this research and found two legit companies that you can use to make money by placing ads on your truck.
These two companies are Wrapify and Carvertise and they are the real deal!
Wrapify will pay you up to $452 a month to just wrap your truck in ads and drive around! The amount depends on how much of your truck is wrapped and how much you drive.
Carvertise pays a flat rate of $100 a month to advertise with them. They also have specialized campaigns that pay $200 a month but these are less common.
Carvertise also has these special jobs where you can park your truck in specific places at specific times and make $30 an hour!

Deliver Items With Your Truck
While this might not be the best way to make money with your truck it is worth a mention because of the many jobs out there!

When you factor in these expenses, you will find that you will not get rich delivering things with your truck but it can be a good side hustle to put some extra money in your pocket!
Use GrubHub
If you are interested in delivering food for money then you need to look into GrubHub.
GrubHub is one of the largest delivery services in the U.S and they are trustworthy and reliable!
They operate in many cities across the U.S so you don’t have to worry about not finding a job.
Here are some of the requirements to drive with GrubHub:
- Must be at least 19 years old (21 in Chicago)
- Valid license, registration, and insurance
- Must pass a background check
- Have at least 2 years of driving experience
- Own a smartphone to operate the GrubHub app
GrubHub Pay:
Glassdoor states that GrubHub drivers make $12 an hour on average but the range can be anywhere from $5 an hour to $25 an hour depending on the location.
Plus, you get to keep 100% of your tips working with GrubHub!

Deliver With Uber Eats
Another huge delivery service that deserves a mention is Uber Eats.
Just like GrubHub, they operate in many cities across the U.S and it is super easy to find delivery jobs on your own time!
It takes just a few minutes to sign up for Uber Eats and once they accept your application you are on your way to make money with your truck!
Here are the requirements for Uber Eats:
- Must be at least the minimum age to drive in your city
- Need a 2-door or 4-door car made after 1998
- Valid license, registration, and insurance
- At least 1 year of driving experience
Note: there might be specific requirements for Uber Eats in your city so keep an eye out for this.
Uber Eats Pay:
Indeed states that Uber Eats drivers make $14.06 per hour on average. Of course, this can be less or more depending on your location and the time you work.
One awesome feature that Uber Eats offers to their drivers is Instant Pay, which as you guessed it is getting paid instantly after you complete a job!
You can use Instant Pay up to five times a day and just withdraw the money to your bank account at any time during the day.
So, if you are looking to make some quick cash with your truck sign up to Uber Eats and work when you want to get paid instantly!
Get Paid With Amazon Flex
If you don’t want to deliver food and rather deliver packages then Amazon Flex might be just the side hustle you are looking for!
Amazon Flex is one of the best jobs for pickup trucks because you have the space to carry a large number of packages to deliver in one shot!
The bad thing is that Amazon Flex is only available in a few cities at this time but they are quickly expanding.
You know you are working with a trustworthy company and as they expand, there will always be jobs waiting for you whenever you want to work!
Amazon Flex Requirements:
- Need to be at least 21 years old
- Valid license, registration, and insurance
- Must pass a background check
- Have a smartphone to use the Amazon app
- Need a 4-door vehicle
Note: if you have a pickup truck you need to make sure it has a closed bed. Open bed pickup trucks do not qualify.
Amazon Flex Pay:
Amazon states that you can make $18 – $25 working for Amazon Flex! You will also be able to make tips for deliveries from Prime Now, Amazon Fresh, and Amazon Restaurants.
Maximize your earnings by working at peak times and taking these side jobs with a pickup truck to carry more deliveries.
Make Money With DoorDash
The last delivery service I want to go over is DoorDash which will allow you to make money with your truck delivering food!
DoorDash is available in many U.S cities and even some cities in Canada! You can find the complete list of cities here.
Here are the requirements for DoorDash:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid license, registration, and insurance
- Pass a background check
- You need a smartphone for the DoorDash app

DoorDash Pay:
According to Glassdoor, a Dasher makes an average of $11 an hour.
Since DoorDash pays you per delivery, it isn’t crystal clear on the amount you get paid but the more you work, the more you make and you get to keep 100% of your tips!
You can make some decent money by doing delivery side jobs with a pickup truck but it honestly isn’t the best way to make money with a truck.
Make Money Driving People
Just like delivering items, driving people with a gas-guzzling truck is not the best job for a pickup truck but you can make up your gas money and get some extra pocket money!
You can check out Uber or Lyft if you are interested in taking these jobs with your truck but I don’t recommend it.
If you want some quick cash then use any of the delivery apps to make money with a pickup truck but working for ridesharing companies doesn’t seem worth it.
But…
There are people with trucks making money with Uber and Lyft!
How?
Well, you can use destination filters in Uber and Lyft to make money for somewhere you are already going!
So let’s say you are going to work or headed to another side hustle, you can open the Uber or Lyft app and set your destination.
Then, if anyone needs a ride along your route you can pick them up and drop them off easily!
Now, it might be a few minutes off your route here and there but you will get paid for essentially driving where you were already going!

Be sure to review the requirements for Uber and the requirements for Lyft.
Start A Towing Service
The great thing about owning a truck is that you can use it to tow items for people such as small boats, trailers, etc…
You can also tow cars with your pickup truck if you have the right equipment!
Think about it…
According to Statista, in 2020 there were over 270 million vehicles registered in the U.S with a rising trend!
Now, of course, you won’t be towing all of these vehicles but it’s just to give you an idea of the potential jobs you can get by starting a towing business.
On the flip side…
There might be a good amount of competition in your area so be sure to do your research before jumping straight into it.
Also, be sure to find out how insurance will work by starting your own towing company. Give your insurance provider a call to get all the details.
There are many ways to turn your pickup truck into a tow truck, you can start with a simple hitch for light loads and work your way up to the heavier-duty towing equipment.
Towing jobs are one of the best ways to make money with your truck because you already have the towing power needed! You just need to get the right equipment for the job.
Here are some examples of pickup trucks and their towing power:
- 2018 Ford F-150 has a max towing capacity of 13,200 pounds
- 2019 Ram 1500 has a max towing capacity of 12,750 pounds
- 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 has a max towing capacity of 12,500 pounds
Now, of course, this depends on the package you get with the pickup truck, more towing power will cost you more money but it will also make you more money towing!
So, if you ever say “I have a pickup truck and need to make money” then definitely consider towing or even start a pickup truck hauling business to make some extra cash!
Offer A Moving Service
One of the other best ways to make money with your truck is to take jobs helping people move things!
Most people don’t own pickup trucks because it is expensive to own but when they want to move large items or a large number of items they are out of luck.

You can work when you want with GoShare and they handle all the insurance needed so you can focus just on earning money.
Here are GoShare’s requirements:
- You need to be at least 18 years old
- Need a vehicle from 2004 or newer (no salvage titles)
- Pass a background check and driving history check
- Valid license, registration, and insurance
- Need a smartphone to use the GoShare app

So, how much can you make with GoShare?
Your GoShare pay will depend on the type of truck you drive, the bigger the truck means more money for you!
Here are the payment amounts you can make working for GoShare:
- A standard Pickup truck can get you up to $47.52 per hour
- A large pickup truck or Cargo van can get you up to $61.92 per hour
- Box trucks can get you $71.52 per hour
GoShare pays its drivers really well! With GoShare’s high pay and flexible hours, this is a great way to make money with your truck!

- Be able to lift at least 75 pounds
- Pass a background check
- Need a smartphone for the Dolly app
Dolly Pay:
According to Dolly, you can make $30 an hour or more by becoming a Dolly driver!
This is awesome pay for working on your own time. If you ever wondered, “how can I make money with my van or truck?” Dolly might be right for you.

Use Your Truck With Bungii
Another great moving company you can work for on your own time is Bungii.
Bungii is a smaller company and they are only in a select amount of cities in the U.S at this time but they are looking to expand to more cities soon.
You can make some decent money by using your truck to help people move with Bungii!
Bungii requirements:
- Need to be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to lift 100 pounds
- 2004 or newer truck
- Need to have four ratchet straps, two bungee cords, two moving blankets, and a tarp (I know… strange but it’s their requirement)
- Know how to secure items by strapping them down

Bungii Pay:
According to Bungii, you can make up to $40 an hour driving with them!
Now, of course, you can make more or less than this. It all depends on when you work, where you work, and how much you work.
Two more great companies that offer jobs to pickup truck owners are Bellhop and Buddytruk.
But…
These companies are fairly new, Bellhop only operates in Austin, TX, and San Marcos, TX at this time. Buddytruck operates in the same cities plus LA and Orange County, CA.
If you reside in one of these cities then check out Bellhop and Buddytruck to see if you would like to use them to make money with your truck!
Local Deliveries
A good way to make money with a truck is to work with local businesses to deliver items for them.
You can make some flyers or start a website to market your services and offer to deliver or move things around for them with your truck.
Most small businesses don’t need large trucks for their deliveries so you can get a nice gig doing this for the small businesses in your area.
So talk to the local businesses in your area and see what they say, it never hurts to try!
Use Your Pickup For Construction Jobs
Similar to working with local businesses, you can also work with construction companies to move items around for them.
Now, these jobs might be less common because construction companies usually have their own trucks to carry their equipment and items.
But…
They might need an extra person with a truck, so if there is any construction going on in your area just stop by and ask them if they can use your help.
It’s one of the best jobs for pickup trucks!
Rent Out Your Truck
If you don’t use your truck that much then why not rent it out and make some money with it?
It can definitely be strange renting your truck out to someone because you never know what can happen but companies like Turo and Getaround will pay you to rent your truck out!

Turo is a huge company that operates in all states in the U.S, certain provinces in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Germany.

Super Money Tip: Turo is a great way to make some extra money when you are not using your truck. You can also list your cars if you have any. Plus, listing is completely free and takes less than 10 minutes!
List your truck when you are going away on vacation or when you just don’t need it for a few days. It’s easy money!
Getaround
If you want to rent out your truck to make some extra cash then you should check out Getaround as well!
They are a smaller company than Turo but they are a great way to make money with your truck when you are not using it!
Getaround states that you can make $800 a month renting your truck/car out with them!
Unlike Turo, Getaround is only available in a select amount of cities at this time, which you can find here.
So, if I had a pickup just sitting around I would definitely list it on Getaround so I can use my pickup truck to make money!

You can simply start your own junk removal service with your own pickup truck and expand your business as time goes by.

It’s awesome because you get to set your own prices which means you can always turn a profit!
The not-so-good thing about CitizenShipper is that you will have to pay a monthly fee of $24.99 to be a driver on their platform.
But…
They do have a 3-month free trial where you can test out their service to see if it is right for you and you can cancel at any time.
CitizenShipper is one of the best apps to make money with a pickup truck where the more you work the more you make, simple as that!

You can stick with just local gigs or go for long-distance gigs with Roadie.
Roadie states that most local gigs pay between $8 – $50 and for long-distance gigs, you can make up to $650!
It is completely free to drive with Roadie but you need to pass some requirements which you can find here.

Yes, it requires a lot of work but that’s what makes it a good business, a lot of people rather pay for landscaping than do it themselves.
You will have an upfront investment of all the equipment needed but as you start taking on jobs you will make that money up in no time!
Make sure you check out your local competition to see if the market isn’t too saturated and if there is a demand for the service.
You wouldn’t want to start this business if there are many competitors in your area nor would it be a good idea to start it if you live in a congested area without a lot of land space.
