Ever heard of apps that pay you to walk?!
Yes, with these apps listed below you can actually get money for walking around!
I know… it sounds a bit unreal but these are legit apps where you will get rewards for simply walking and exercising.
Getting healthy while getting cash for steps sounds like a win-win to me!
Now I must tell you this…
You are definitely not going to get rich from these apps but you will get paid for walking, I mean they’re worth checking out right?!
Take the time to check out every app on this list because each is different and one might work better for you than another. You can always test out different apps or use a few at the same time!
Let’s get to these apps to see how you can earn money for walking…
Best Apps That Pay You To Walk
Before we get into this in-depth post on ways to get money for walking, here are my top recommended apps that you can use right now to make some extra money:
Using DoorDash involves a bit more than walking since you are delivering items but it’s a great side hustle where you can make money in your free time!
If you are looking for an app where you can get paid for walking and nothing more then you need to get Sweatcoin now!
Another great app that pays you for walking indoors and outdoors is Lympo. You need to check this out and use it now!
Now let’s dig deeper into these awesome apps as well as some other apps that will let you earn money for walking!
One of the best apps that pay you to walk is Sweatcoin.
Sweatcoin is a pretty popular app that you might have heard of before but if you haven’t Sweatcoin is an app that pays you to walk!
Just download the Sweatcoin app here and then sign up. That’s it! Then just let Sweatcoin run in the background and start earning points.
In the past Sweatcoin only counted outdoor steps but they updated their app to count indoor steps as well!
So, as long as you have the Sweatcoin app on your phone and you are walking around you will earn money for walking, it’s as simple as that!
Sweatcoin uses GPS to track your steps outside so make sure that the location on your phone is on so you earn points every time you walk outdoors.
For indoor steps, you do not need your GPS on for Sweatcoin to track your steps.
On Sweatcoin you can earn 0.95 Sweatcoins for every 1,000 steps you take, which I admit is not much at all but it is money you will make for simply walking!
The amount you make on Sweatcoin will add up and you can then cash out to the many different offers available that changes every day.
Sweatcoin has different membership plans that limit how much you can make:
- Mover – Free to use but limited to 5 Sweatcoins a day
- Shaker – Costs 4.75 Sweatcoins a month but you can make 10 Sweatcoins a day
- Quaker – Costs 20 Sweatcoins a month but you can make 15 Sweatcoins a day
- Breaker – Costs 30 Sweatcoins a month but you can make 20 Sweatcoins a day
I recommend sticking with the free plan for now then moving onto the shaker plan if it fits your lifestyle.
Sweatcoins don’t have a direct cash value, it depends on the offer you choose to redeem but it most likely translates somewhere between $0.05 to $0.10 per Sweatcoin.
If you are looking for apps that pay you to walk then you need to check out Sweatcoin!
Sweatcoin is free to sign up to and use. I highly recommend this awesome app to make money by walking!
If you are a pet lover then Rover is one of the best apps that pay you to walk!
With Rover, you can get paid to walk dogs in your free time but you can also make some extra money by pet sitting dogs & cats!
You just have to sign up to Rover here and set up your profile to be hired for dog walking opportunities.
On Rover, you can look to make $10 – $30 per dog for every walk you do! The more dogs you walk then the more money you can make!
You can make even more money by pet sitting if you choose to do it.
So, if you love dogs then Rover is one of the best apps that pay you to walk dogs.
Rover is an awesome app that gives you money for walking dogs.
One of the best apps that pay you to walk is DoorDash!
DoorDash is a delivery app where you can take delivery gigs in your own time.
So, DoorDash is a bit more than just walking but you will be able to make a good amount of money by simply delivering things to people.
Of course, getting paid to walk with DoorDash will only work if you are taking jobs in a city where gigs are in close vicinity to each other.
You can get paid to walk and deliver items on DoorDash by signing up here!
Along with walking, you can also deliver items by bicycle or car.
Walgreens Balance Rewards
If you shop at Walgreens pretty often then you need to check out the Walgreens balance rewards program.
Walgreens has a program in their app that will pay you to walk and live a healthier lifestyle!
On the Walgreens app, there are health challenges every Monday and if you complete the challenges you will get some points.
You will receive 100 points for every challenge you complete and if you complete all 4 weeks of challenges you can get up to 2,000 points!
You can use these points at Walgreens for discounts on your purchases. Walgreens states that 1,000 points are equal to $1.
So, it’s not much at all but if you shop at Walgreens frequently then it can help you out a bit.
Check out the Walgreens Balance Rewards program here to see if it works for you.
A pretty new app that will pay you cash to walk or run is Yodo!
Yodo is a new walking app that pays you but it has great reviews on the App Store and Play Store.
The great thing about Yodo is that you can trade in the points you acquire for cash!
Yodo is pretty similar to all the other apps on this list where it uses GPS to track your steps and provides challenges to take where you will get points if you complete them.
Some users state the app is glitchy and doesn’t work right sometimes so this is something to be cautious of.
Once you get enough points you can withdraw them for cash!
Since Yodo is pretty new I would use it cautiously and not rely solely on this app. I would pair it up with Sweatcoin to maximize my earnings.
Yodo is an app that lets you earn money for walking, check them out here.
A pretty cool app that will reward you for walking is MapMyFitness which is owned by Under Armour.
MapMyFitness is a fitness tracking app that will reward you for completing a variety of fitness-related challenges.
Pretty much all rewards are related to Under Armour products due to the fact that they own the app but you can score some awesome gear for free!
MapMyFitness integrates beautifully with your phones fitness apps and even with your Fitbit or Apple Watch.
Check out MapMyFitness to get your hands on some free Under Armour gear.
One of the best apps that pay you to walk for a great cause is Charity Miles.
Charity Miles is an app that rewards you for walking but instead of giving you the money it actually donates the money to a charity of your choice.
It’s an awesome app that is for a great cause!
Just sign up to Charity Miles for free and then choose the charity you will like your rewards to go to, then just move and earn points.
For every mile, you will walk to earn money for the charity that you chose!
Charity Miles is a great app, if you would like to check them out go here.
If you want to make more money by doing a bit more than just walking then Gigwalk is the app for you.
Gigwalk is an app where you can make some extra money by doing various tasks for companies.
You just have to sign up to Gigwalk here and then give the app access to your location and go about your day.
As you walk around, Gigwalk will offer you gigs in your area and you can choose to take them or not.
For example, a gig can be to go into a store and take a few pictures.
You will make a few extra bucks for this simple task! Most gigs pay around $5.
Check out Gigwalk here if you are interested!
One of the best apps that pay you to walk is PK Fitness.
PK Fitness is a walking app that pays you and it is similar to Sweatcoin where it tracks your activities and connects with your fitness apps like Apple Health or Google Fit.
You will get coins for walking, running, or doing any other fitness-related activities!
PK Fitness has a daily cap of 20 coins and a weekly cap of 100 coins. If you would like to increase the daily cap you will have to opt for one of their paid membership plans.
You can then redeem your coins for rewards within the app like gift cards or fitness gear.
Check out PK Fitness here and walk to earn money for walking now.
If you reside in the UK then one of the best apps that pay you to walk is BetterPoints.
You have to be a UK resident to use the app and you have to be 14 years or older.
Once you register for BetterPoints you will need to join the rewards program they offer, there are multiple programs to choose from and you can join as many as you want as long as you are eligible to do so.
You will then get challenges to complete and once you complete the challenges you will get points that you can trade-in for a variety of rewards.
Most rewards start at 3,000 points and if you choose to donate your points to charity you’ll have to wait until you have 20,000 points to do so.
BetterPoints is a great app to use to get some rewards for walking. So, if you reside in the UK check out BetterPoints here!
A great app that you can use to get paid for walking or running is Lifecoin.
Lifecoin is similar to Sweatcoin where it tracks your outdoor activities and then counts up your steps where you build up points that can be used to get various rewards.
The downside to Lifecoin is that you have a daily cap of 5 Lifecoins a day on their free plan but if you choose to go for their paid plan (which I think is not worth it) you will increase your daily cap to 10 Lifecoins a day.
You will get 1 Lifecoin for every 1,000 steps you make, so it will be a long process to build up enough Lifecoins to cash out to a reward.
For example, a $50 gift cards cost 2,500 Lifecoins. Even if you get 5 Lifecoins a day, it will take you about a year and a half to get a $50 gift card.
Yes, this is not much at all!
But hey, it’s free money that you will get for just walking around so it’s worth checking out.
You can check out Lifecoin here.
We already went over Sweatcoin which is an awesome app where you can get paid to walk but other than Sweatcoin one of the other best apps that pay you to walk is Achievement.
Achievement is a free app that will pay you to walk, exercise and take health related surveys!
You can use Achievement to connect with your other fitness apps like Apple Health, Google Fit, or Fitbit so they can track your steps and give it to Achievement.
On Achievement, you will earn points for your physical activities and once you reach 10,000 points or $10, you can cash out to PayPal, direct deposit, or other gift cards.
Achievement will also give you 50 points for just signing up! You might even get to participate in special studies to make up to $200!
This is an awesome app that pays you to walk as well as other physical activities. I highly recommend using this app to earn money from walking, you can even use this along with Sweatcoin to make even more money!
Achievement will give you around 25 points per 5,000 steps so this is definitely not a get rich quick type of app.
It will take some time to get 10,000 points but all you have to do is connect the app to your other fitness apps and let it run, that’s it!
Check out Achievement now and get 50 points just for signing up!
Another great app like DoorDash where you can get paid to walk and delivery items is Postmates.
Postmates is a great app that you can use in your own time to make money by making deliveries.
Whenever you have some free time just hop onto Postmates and take some gigs to make some extra cash.
On Postmates you can look to make around $12 an hour which is a pretty good amount of side income for just walking and delivering some items.
Sign up to Postmates here and make some extra money by walking!
Plus, on Postmates you get to keep 100% of the tips you make!
An interesting app that you can use to make money walking is an app called higi.
Higi is an all-around health tracking app that will help you become healthier by giving you all the analytics necessary to improve your lifestyle.
The awesome part is that higi has these stations that you can use to measure certain aspects of your health like BMI, blood pressure, heart rate, etc…
By checking into these health stations, walking, completing challenges, etc… higi will reward you for your healthy lifestyle.
The downside to higi is that you cannot redeem your points for cash. You can only redeem them for rewards which are most likely health gear or discounts on items.
You can also choose to donate your points to charity if you would like.
An interesting app that you can use to make money by walking is Stepbet.
But there’s a catch…
Stepbet is a betting app where you bet on the number of steps you take a day and if you achieve your goal then you win a prize.
Unfortunately, most bets are $40 which is a bit on the high side but if you are confident in your ability to make the daily step amount then go for it.
Most bets last six weeks so if you meet your goals each week you will split the prize with the other winners.
If you win the bet you will get back the money that you put in and then some more depending on the price amount and how much people you have to split it with.
Stepbet is not the best app to use to make money walking since it is a betting app but if you think you can win the bets then go for it.
If you really want to use a betting app to make a lot of money to become healthier then I recommend HealthyWage which we will go over later.
You can check out Stepbet here to see if it works for you.
One of the best apps that pay you to walk or run is Lympo and it is super fun to use!
Lympo is a pretty awesome app that is highly rated on the App Store and Play Store. It rewards you for completing walking or running challenges in the app.
The app is completely free to use you can make money by walking outdoors as well as indoors! This is much better than Sweatcoin which only allows you to walk outdoors to earn points.
Every day there are new challenges and after you complete a challenge you will get LYM tokens.
Here’s the thing…
Lympo is an app developed on blockchain and LYM is their cryptocurrency.
I know this sounds confusing but it really isn’t. To make it simple, when you complete challenges you will get LYM tokens which you can then redeem for the various rewards on their platform.
Think of it no different than a point-based system most apps use.
The downside to Lympo is that there is currently no way to cash out the tokens to cash, it only allows you to buy health-related gear.
Other than this I think Lympo is an awesome app where you can get paid to walk and dabble in cryptocurrencies.
If you would like to get more involved in cryptocurrency I recommend using Coinbase where you can get $10 of bitcoin for free when you purchase $100 of any cryptocurrency!
If you are looking to live a healthier lifestyle and lose some weight then you need to check out HealthyWage.
HealthyWage is an app that will pay you to lose weight!
HealthyWage will essentially pay you to walk if you end up losing weight in the long run.
It’s pretty much a win-win situation, you are getting healthier and you are getting money!
You do need to know that HealthyWage is a kind of betting site where you bet on how much weight you are going to lose and how much time it’s going to take.
But the odds are in your favor because the outcome is totally in your control!
Check out the HealthyWage calculator to see the amount of money you can get for the amount of weight you lose in a certain time period.
There are many great reviews about HealthyWage and if you are looking to lose weight then definitely check them out! You can earn money from walking and losing weight!
