Best Tips If You’re Tired Of Being Poor

If you’re tired of being poor, you need to change your life to dig out your current situation.

It will be a long and challenging process, and you might feel like it’s impossible, but I’m here to tell you that it is possible; you just need to know what steps to take.

With that said, here are the best tips to take if you are sick of being poor…

    Know Where You Stand Now

The first step you need to take to revamp your financial life is to know where you stand now.

Take a birds-eye view of your financial life and put together a rough draft on areas you know you can approve on.

    Listen…

I know that some people are in very dire situations and struggling to get out of poverty, but others might be in a better standing where they just need to make little changes to better their financial situation.

That’s why it’s so important to know where you stand so you can take the appropriate steps to lift yourself out of your current situation.

It’s the first step you should take, and it’s one of the most essential tips on this list if you are tired of struggling financially.

    Do An In-Depth Financial Analysis

If you are tired of struggling financially then do a financial analysis

Now that you have taken a birds-eye view of your financial situation, it’s time to do an in-depth financial analysis.

You need to track your income, debt, and all your expenses. This can be done on a piece of paper, in an excel document, etc…

This step aims to know how much money you are bringing home and exactly where that money is going.

If you’re tired of being broke, you must take the appropriate steps to improve your financial life.

For example, by doing a financial analysis, you will be able to see if there are areas where you can save money.

If there is not much room to save money without significantly reducing your quality of life, then you now know you need to make more money.

This is one of the most critical steps to take if you want to know how to stop being poor.

    Budget

When you have completed your financial analysis, it’s time to set a budget.

Look at the expenses section of your analysis and find areas where you can cut costs.

For example, use grocery lists to limit food spending, negotiate bills to lower costs, cut out unnecessary expenses, etc…

You might have to cut out some things you want, but this is what it takes to improve your financial life.

Just be careful not to cut expenses that can cause a much lower quality of life, leading to physical and mental health issues.

Also, take a look at your debt and create a game plan to get rid of your debt as soon as possible.

Creating a budget is such an important step to take if you’re tired of being poor!

    Make Saving A Priority

To improve your financial situation, you really need to focus on paying yourself first!

If you’re sick of being broke, then stop going out to eat so much, stop purchasing unnecessary products, etc…

Do your best to save money at every chance you get!

Use your budget and financial analysis as guides to see where you can save money and implement these changes in your life.

Even if you aren’t able to save much, it’s a start, and every step counts!

    Earn More Money

If you want to know how to stop being poor you need to make more money

Maybe you are in a situation where there really isn’t any room for saving money at this time.

If this is your case, you must focus intensely on increasing your income!

Ask your boss for a raise, give specific reasons why you deserve it, or ask for overtime opportunities.

You can also get a second job or take some side gigs like Doordash, Instacart, or Uber.

There are many ways to make more money, but you have to look at options that will give you the most reward.

For example, in some of my other articles, I recommend using survey sites to make some extra money, but if you’re sick of being poor and want a way out, you shouldn’t even consider survey sites now.

You need to increase your income significantly, and you can do that with the options listed above.

    Government Assistance

Listen, you might be in a situation where there isn’t room to save money, and you can’t make more money now, so what do you do?

You can get assistance from the government, and I highly recommend checking out the various government assistance programs available.

Now, I’m talking about the U.S here, but if you do not live in the U.S, be sure to check out what assistance programs are available in your country.

Go to Benefits.gov and select your state to see all the assistance programs offered.

There are specific requirements needed to apply to these programs, so make sure you look into these programs before taking action.

If you are tired of struggling financially, then I highly recommend taking advantage of these government programs!

    Ask For Help

Now, the government might not provide the help you need to overcome your financial struggles, so what do you do?

    Simply ask for help!

I know that asking for help can be embarrassing, but you really shouldn’t feel embarrassed. Many people are willing to help; you just have to ask.

You can find many food banks, non-profits, etc… that can help take some financial strain off your back to improve your financial life.

So, if you are tired of being poor, simply ask for help.

    Educate

Educate yourself to become smarter financially

One way to increase your income is to get an education to further your career or get a new career with a higher salary.

You can go to college or trade school to learn a highly sought-after skill like computer programming or electrician, which can help you earn more money.

The further you educate yourself, the more money you will make!

Along with getting educated from a college or trade school, you should also self-educate with personal finance books, blogs, videos, etc…

If you are tired of being broke, then education will help you better understand how to set up your finances properly.

Set Financial Goals And Stick To It

If you really want to improve your financial life, you should set goals you want to achieve and then work towards achieving these goals.

The key is to set realistic goals and stick to them!

For example, saying you want to become a millionaire in a few months is unrealistic and most likely unachievable.

    But…

Saying you want to start a side hustle to make an extra $1,000 a month is realistic and definitely achievable.

So, start setting goals and work towards achieving them!

    Avoid Debt

If you are tired of being in debt then you need to pay off debt and avoid debt

One of the things that stop people from achieving financial success is debt, and you should do your best to avoid going into debt if you’re tired of being poor.

Now, you might have to utilize debt at some point but just make sure you pay off your debt as soon as possible to avoid interest.

When you are stuck in a bad financial situation, debt will act as an anchor that will bring you down, so do your best to avoid debt!

    Live Below Your Means

A simple step that is not followed all the time is to live below your means.

This may seem like common sense, but I know many people who are struggling financially who don’t follow this step.

Use your financial analysis and budget as a guide to see how much money you are making and how much you need to spend.

Keep altering your finances to maximize your income while reducing your spending.

This is the key to financial success!

    Alter Your Living Situation

Living costs are one of the most significant expenses we all face, and if you are struggling to pay bills, then it might be time to alter your living situation.

In all honesty, it might suck to do this, but it can be a smart financial move to get you out of the gutter if you are struggling financially.

Maybe it’s time to move to a lower-cost area or downsize your home to save money.

You can also get some roommates to help take some of the living costs off your back.

It might not be comfortable to do this, but if you are tired of being poor, you need to find a way to cut expenses, and living costs are one of them all.

    Join Helpful Communities

If you are tired of being broke then join helpful communities to improve your financial life

Improving your financial life is hard and even harder when you don’t have a supportive community behind you.

Even if you have people to support you, they might not understand your situation and problems, which can be tough.

If you do have this, that is great, but if you don’t, you should look for communities that will help you through your journey.

For example, On Reddit, there are many subreddits on things such as personal finance and frugality where you can communicate with people and get advice from people in similar situations.

You can also find Facebook groups, forums, etc… that you can join to become part of a helpful community.

Start Getting Interest On Your Money

The sad truth is that most banks offer you pretty much nothing to save your money with them.

What I mean is that many large banks like Chase, Bank Of America, etc… have super-low interest rates, which will only earn you a few cents to a few dollars a year.

But… it doesn’t have to be this way!

Many online banks have much higher interest rates where you can earn much more money in interest.

Online banks such as Ally and CIT Bank have interest rates about 10x greater than the big banks!

    Learn To Invest

Learn to invest your money and make it grow over time

Once you improve your financial life and start earning more money and saving more money, you should learn to invest.

Saving money is great, but due to inflation, your money is losing value each year!

This is why you should invest your money so it can grow over time and beat the inflation rate.

Start small and work your way up; the most crucial part is that you start!

The stock market is a great place to invest your money; it has been going up since its inception and will most likely keep going up.

Join free investing platforms like Robinhood and Webull, which allow you to invest in stocks for absolutely free.

Plus, when you sign up to Robinhood with my link you will get a free stock and when you sign up to Webull with my link you will get two free stocks!

I definitely recommend learning how to invest your money so it can grow over time.

Start Developing A Passive Income Machine

One of the main reasons people gain wealth is that they learn to make passive income, which means they disconnect money from time.

Most people make their money from a job, and if they don’t work, they don’t get paid. This means that your money is tied to your time spent working.

For the rich, they set up systems or machines that allow them to make money all the time, no matter if they work or not.

This can be starting a business, investing in the stock market, real estate, etc…

To be fair, developing a passive income machine is a long and challenging process and shouldn’t be thought of as something to get rich overnight.

You can start off small with a blog or YouTube channel to make some extra money and build it up as time goes on.

    Use Cashback Apps

A fantastic way to save money easily is by using cashback apps.

Cashback apps will save you money on things you are already purchasing anyway!

Now, cashback apps won’t save you a ton of money, but they can help you save a decent amount, so they are definitely worth checking out.

If you are tired of being poor, then consider using cashback apps to save some extra money.

Here are my favorite cash-back apps…

    • Dosh
    Save Money With Dosh Here

My favorite cashback app to use is Dosh, and here’s why…

Dosh partners with hundreds of stores, and they provide automatic cashback as long as you shop with a linked card.

This is great because other cashback apps require you to activate offers before getting cash back but not Dosh.

Dosh is a free cash back app that allows you to get cashback automatically for simply shopping like you normally do!

    • Rakuten
    Check Out Rakuten

Another great and well-known cashback app is Rakuten.

Rakuten is a huge cashback service that partners with 1,000’s of brands! You will pretty much always get cash back when using Rakuten.

All you need to do is sign up for your free Rakuten account, check the app or site for cashback offers, and then just shop.

    That’s it!

Plus, when you sign up to Rakuten with my link you will get $10 for free!

Rakuten makes it easy to get cashback, and I highly recommend using this app to save money.

    • Ibotta
    Use Ibotta To Save Money

Food is one of our biggest expenses, and a cashback app that can help you save money on food is ibotta.

There are many awesome cashback apps available, but Ibotta is hands down the best cashback app for buying food.

They partner with many large grocery brands like Aldi, Walmart, Costco, Stop & Shop, etc…

Some people get $ 1,000’s in cashback from Ibotta alone!

I highly recommend using ibotta every time you go grocery shopping so you can save some money easily.
